Christmas Show Invite

December is around the corner. My studio has been a hive of creative pursuit in readiness for this upcoming show. It's exciting - a first gallery show outside of the Yukon!
Ontario has provided lots of inspiration as I move forward: artist friends+ art classes = art community. The now familiar, local landscape, changing seasons, and the beauty of nature fuel my mind with ideas to explore and express. Ontario has become home.

Once again green and growing things hold my creative interest. I'm on a flower role again - poppies, no less! I'm continuously thinking up new ways to capture them.

Spring is in full swing here. I'm gearing up for a gallery opening in June - details to follow. In the meantime I'm continuing to paint with oils; loving the creamy, blendability of the medium. A remembered scene from my walks in Ontario.

A recent submission to the 10th Annual Juried Exhibition held at the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery at St Lawrence College, Brockville, ON.

Lots of painting has been happening, just not a lot of uploading. I've been on a poppy kick when it comes to flowers. Inspiration has come from stunning specimens growing in my neighbourhood. Wildflowers, grasses, poppies...they make me feel creative just by looking.

These days I'm waiting for spring to merge into summer. It has been a long, cold, grey, and wet season to date. So it is no wonder I've turned my imagination to flowers. I want to see colour amidst the green!
Grass Flowers will be featured in an art show this wknd in Burritts Rapids, ON, along with some other new "wild" flower works. Come check it out!
