Gold over Grey Mountain: A Yukon Sunrise - SOLD

                                                      10x20 acrylic on canvas SOLD

Grey Mountain overlooks Whitehorse, YT. The changing seasons plus the rising and setting of the sun transform the mountain's surface hourly. I love the blues that intensify in the shadows as the sun crests the top. I have seen mauve, jade green, burnt orange, yellow and rosy greys projected onto this mountain as light plays across the surfaces. It is a lovely, inspiring site - one I have painted often. This painting is particularly dear as it is my first painting of Grey Mountain.

Mountain Bones

                                          18x14 acrylic on canvas

These days I swing between painting realistic people, places and things, then putting them all aside for a little creative expressiveness. This is the result of messing around with texture, modeling paste, and color. And if you look a little closely you can see all manner of creatures within: man, moose, mammoth, eagle... inspired by canyon rock formations on the Yukon River.
